A “Truck Fit Check” could help customers confirm vehicle clearance before they arrive. During move-in planning, renters could enter their vehicle type or approximate height and length, then receive guidance on the best entrance, loading area, turning route, and any clearance limitations on the property.

This could be especially useful at facilities with covered loading areas, narrow drive aisles, multiple gates, or indoor vehicle access. A customer arriving in a large box truck could be directed differently than someone arriving in an SUV or pickup.

Better information before arrival could prevent blocked entrances, difficult turns, last-minute unloading changes, and frustrated moving crews. It could also help staff manage larger vehicles without waiting until a driver is already stuck in the wrong part of the property.

What to do about it: Document vehicle-clearance information for each entrance and loading area. Add a simple vehicle question to move-in instructions and provide the best route based on the customer’s answer. A thirty-second check before arrival could prevent a much bigger problem at the gate.
